Talisman Lab Completes Fourth Year of AACD Give Back a Smile

For the fourth consecutive year, Talisman Lab partnered with AACD member dentists across Ontario to provide complimentary restorations to survivors of domestic violence through the Give Back a Smile programme.

This past October, Talisman Lab was proud to complete its fourth year participating in the AACD Give Back a Smile (GBAS) programme — a North American initiative that connects volunteer dental professionals with survivors of domestic abuse to restore smiles damaged by violence.

This Year’s Impact

Working alongside six AACD member dentists in the GTA and Southwestern Ontario, Talisman Lab provided laboratory services — including e.max crowns, zirconia bridges, and composite veneers — at no charge for eleven patients across the month of October.

Our ceramists, case managers, and delivery drivers all donated their time and expertise to ensure cases were completed on schedule and to the same standard our referring dentists expect on every case.

Why It Matters

The ability to smile without embarrassment is something most of us take for granted. For survivors navigating rebuilding their lives, it carries real weight — professionally, socially, and psychologically. We are grateful to play even a small part in that process.

“Seeing the reactions when patients try in their final restorations is a reminder of why this work matters beyond the technical craft.” — Talisman Lab Ceramics Team
